And she wore sparkling blue

Walking downstairs to the basement and to my room, I was welcomed to the sound of Duke Ellington's "Perdido" on my Itunes.

It made me feel like I was walking into some sort of underground jazz club two blocks from the infamous corner of 18th and Vine.
But instead of being greeted by thick aromatic bar smoke and the shimmering tassles of 30s style dresses, I see the heads of two lacrosse sticks embraced between the tv and computer desk and the slumping, rumpled blankets on my bed. Not quite the bar life I was hoping for.
Regardless, the brown plush carpet makes for a wonderful imaginary dance floor for one.

Breakin' Ball

So I'm in Baltimore and the Orioles lost their series with the fucking Red Sox. Ugh.
Best part of the trip so far was getting Luke Scott's autograph.
Brother's girlfriend got us a ticket upgrade from the Club level seats in the middle of nowhere Birdland to eight rows behind the O's dugout.
We went early to see batting practice, which didn't happen thanks to the rain storms that moved in. After eating a delicious crabcake sandwich, I went to stand with the autograph seekers and had close encounters with Adam Jones, Felix Pie, Nick Markakis and of course, my new favorite Oriole - Luke Scott.
He signed my recently purchased (and worn only once to my first Camden Yards game) Nick Markakis No. 21 t-shirt which was bright Orioles orange. Here's the exchange we had after he used my Sharpie to sign a faded blue Red Sox hat.

Me- "Thanks, Luke, for doing this. You're doing awesome this season."
Scott- "No problem. Thanks."
Me- "Knock 'em dead tonight."
Scott- "I think I can do that."

I was on Cloud 9. When you go floating back to your seat from seeing some of your favorite ballplayers...you know you'll have a good day.
I plan to put that t-shirt in a nice frame with my tickets from this weekend and maybe a nice photo of Camden Yards or Luke Scott and Nick Markakis. We'll see what I do.
On Tuesday, we leave for Boston. I don't think we can top that experience...but I guess we'll see. Could always meet Matt Damon or something...hehe
